Description: This television utilizes Philips Real Flat technology, which combines futuristic picture tubes with our designer cabinets to equal a state of the art television. In addition to looking better cosmetically, the Real Flat picture tube also improves the quality of the picture by increasing viewing angles and reducing reflected ambient light, which creates a brighter and crisper image. The Real Flat picture tube is the future of television and it is here today!

Review NaN of , from Rochester, NY

Price Paid:  $579.00 from Sears

Summary:
Bought this TV looking for an alternative to the price of High Definition or Plasma TV's. This is as close to that as I could find. The quality - both sound and picture - are excellent = even approaching HDTV. For the price, I have been happy.
There is one annoyance. Sometimes the controls "lock up" and the sound stops. Both the remote and tv mounted controls lock. The solution is to "boot" the tv by disconnecting it from the power source, wait about 10 seconds, reconnect the power and turn it on as usual. Happens about once or twice a month. Gets a lot of use and abuse in my house with 3 teenagers, DVD/CD Player, Home Theatre and VCR components to it.

Overall good quality of workmanship. Excellent picture and sound.

Strengths:
Picture
Sound
Ease of connecting to other components
Remote Control

Weaknesses:
Locking of controls and loss of sound occasionally.

Review NaN of , from Monterey, CA, USA

Price Paid:  $588.00 from Costco, Sand City

Summary:
I've always liked Phillips' products. However, this time around wasn't to satisfactory. I had to return 2 27" T.V.s within 4 months time because the picture tubes blew. And no, it's not the wiring in the house. If the picture tubes would have lasted, then I would be happy to this day. I'm not saying Phillips has crappy merchandise. These past couple episodes made me look at other brands of televisions in the under 32" range.

Strengths:
Aesthetically appealing, decent sound and picture for the money

Weaknesses:
quality

Similar Products Used:
Same model that had to be returned a month earlier
