from Tweeter Summary: I don't see alot of reviews for the televisions in this category but thought I would put forth the effort for those of you considering this type of purchase. I wanted an HDTV capable TV for the bedroom, I found the ones with the line doublers really improve digital/analog. cable. The Philips definately does, in fact, it does alot with a weaker signal and the overall picture quality is really good. We ended up getting a satellite box and this TV is outstanding with HDTV. Only drawbacks are that for some reason, I get ground loop issues with this tv whereas others I had in this room have been fine. A small faint bar scrolls through the picture at times. Other flaws are that the automatic sound leveler didn't seem to do the job, we had to adjust the volume during commercials. The menu system and remote are a little quirky and last but perhaps the most important, the tv is really fussy with changes in temerature and "pops" alot as the plastic seems to be always settling, this is really anoying. I'd say that picture is excellent but if you are picky about other of the little aspects, this tv may drive you nuts. Strengths: Picture with cable and hdtv Weaknesses: plastic cabinet constantly pops, menu system, remote. Similar Products Used: sony, toshiba, panasonic, JVC
