Price Paid:
$250.00
from Circuit City Summary: This product is now discontinued, but I think
I got a good bargain. The picture is very
bright and sharp with excellent contrast.
Panasonic obviously designed the picture
tube with performance in mind compared to
the other cheap stuff that dominates the market. It
has an S-video jack on the back which makes
it excellent for video games and DVDs.
The one thing that is disappointing this TV is
the audio quality. The speakers can sound
so hollow at certain frequencies. That is
because the speakers are mounted deep within
the set and it is using the tall narrow plastic
front of the TV as a waveguide. My old TV from
1978 sounds better! I have another Panasonic
TV and they never seem to take sound quality
very seriously. It it''s audio you really
care about don''t route it through this TV.
I don''t like the remote either. They put
all the VCR controls on the very bottom and
they are uncomfortable to use, especially
the buttons that controls the VCR channel.
I never liked Panasonic''s on screen menu''s.
It looks cheap and it is hard to change
settings quickly. Strengths: Video quality. Weaknesses: Audio quality. Remote control. On screen menus. Similar Products Used: 1999 vintage Quasar 32" TV.
