Price Paid:  $640.00 from Bianco's

Summary:
This TV is great! I've owned it for almost 3 years and have never had a problem with it. I had a choice of purchasing a Sony and other makes, but i decided to go with the JVC. The Sony was way too overprice (remember this was in 2002) and the JVC, was a little more affordable. Even though it was cheaper, I liked the colours of the JVC better...more vibrant and realistic. Seeing as though we'd had a 13 year old JVC set with no problems there was no contemplating on any other brand. I've also worked for Future Shop and another department store and found that one of the most returned sets were Sony's. Not only with their TV sets, but with DVD players too! I guess its because Sony has had a history of great products, but now with unionization and everything in general being built cheaper these days, Sony can't live up to their expectations anymore. Anyways this is a review on Jvc so i plan to talk about JVC. The picture quality is excellent using the component video input....no complaints, you'd swear its HD. On the other hand, i find the picture quality average using the other inputs such as S-Video. I find there's lots of colour bleeding and the contrast is a little off. However, overall, I can't complain as i've received many comments from family and friends about the picture being great, so i guess there's your proof!

Strengths:
Nice colours, Good picture especially using component video input, good sound (for a tv set) well laid out remote

Weaknesses:
colour bleeding using s-video via satellite connection

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
