Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
This tv has been nothing but a headache for us. You have to turn it on 2-3 times before it actually turns on. In the last year, the tv turns off all by itself, if you tilt the tv or hit the top of it, it would turn back on for 2-5 minutes then shut off again. Had it repaired like suggested on the GE site, but still doesn't work. I called GE, was on hold for 5 min, then was told after 10 min of trouble shooting that since it wasn't under 27 inches it couldn't be returned, or exchanged. The closest repair guy is 90 miles away.

Strengths:
Clear picture

Weaknesses:
Very heavy to move, sound isn't real loud, don't work

Similar Products Used:
JVC, Panosonic,

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $399.00 from Walmart Canada

Summary:
This is a very unreliable television. The first one I took home lasted three months when it started turning itself off without warning. Walmart was very good and replaced it without question. The second TV (which was a newer model and had more features) lasted 1 year and five months. This TV now has no sound (well I guess it does if you like the sound of static!) I contacted Walmart and spoke with the Assistant Manager who was very sympathetic after I explained that this was in fact the second GE television from their store that had stopped working. She mentioned that they had been getting allot of these defective GE televisions back and offered me a full credit toward a new TV (of a different brand - her suggestion) I bought this TV because of its price and features - I will never buy another GE television! Thank-you to Walmart as the TV had just run out of warranty and I would have been out of luck and money otherwise!

Strengths:
Easy to use remote

Weaknesses:
Junk Junk Junk. Easy to use "universal" remote won't control any of my other equipment.

Similar Products Used:
Toshiba, Citizen, Sanyo, Kenwood,JVC, Panasonic

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
