GE 27GT270 Standard Televisions

3/5 (1 Reviews) MSRP : $229.00

Product Description

The 27GT270 is General Electric's most affordable 27" Direct View Television. As such, you should forget the bells and whistles, though this model gets the job done for watching TV and videotapes. The 27GT270 has a dark-tint, high contrast picture tube. Auto Color Control, GE's color tracking system and dynamic black stretch circuitry improve video quality. This set's two front firing speakers deliver GE's XS Stereo, which should not be confused with the superior MTS stereo with dbx noise reduction. Channel surfers will like the Commercial Skip function.

Bottom Line:
For the money - it's not a bad deal for a 27" screen.

Only drawback is sound - I'm not exceedingly happy with it but hey, for the money I can't complain too much.

One big problem is the remote. You really have to mash the keys down to do anything. Being that I've got so many devices I bought Pacific Neotek's OmniRemote module for my Visor Prism - tried using it with Cox's GI digital cable box. Bzzzzzt. Works fine with the GE unit though.

Granted - I'll keep it until the switchover to HDTV.
