Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $3200.00 from Highbury Electronics

Summary:
I purchased this after reading a several reviews in glossy magazines. It came very highly recommended. Luckily a local retailler had ithe sanyo in stock and when i saw jurassic parkat the store i was totally blown away. The picture quality was excellent, the colour contrast and definition were perfect. I could see every hair of Jeff's stubble on the 200 inch screen. I remember looking around the shop and asking the store owner why the picture from the sanyo looked so much better than the £5000 plasma screen he had. The explanation was, that a lot of the money on plasmas goes on the internal electronics and screen. Which with the sanyo projector was not needed as it is a totally different type of system. That's why professional projection systems are used in cinemas and places where picture quality is of paramount importance. Because they can humble even the most expensive of plasma tvs not only in quality, but in undistorted picture size. Just to give you an idea, HDTV is 720p whereas the sanyo high defintion projector is 1010p. Gives a picture as big as a living room wall, but does not take up half your living room. Can be mounted on a small shelf, ceiling, or table. Highly recommended.

Strengths:
Best picture quality, better than plasmas or rear projesction by far. Which is expected at this price range.

Weaknesses:
All the family want to watch movies or the tv in my room now. Even when i go out they are using it. What a life.

Similar Products Used:
I have a very expensive panasonic plasma tv, which cost me about the same as the sanyo, but i rarely use it now.

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
