I love the clarity and quality of the unit, but as of two months ago, I can not find a replacement bulb to save my life.

Strength:

So many adjustments that can be made to make your blacks black and your whites white and everyhting in-between. Very clear and near-theater quality.

Weakness:

Hard to understand manual that only rocket scientists may be able to understand. It doesnt go into depth of what alot of the settings do and doesnt give you an idea of how to get the best picture, it is basically trial and error.

I have been using this projector for over a year and a half on the same lamp. It is bright and clear even on my 150" screen. Adjustments can be made to suit your tastes. This is an all-around awesome projector and great for watching movies and cable TV. For the price, I paid $3000, you can''t come close to the clarity and quality of this projector for less than $8-10,000. Highly recomended.

Strength:

Amazingly versatile. Great package of accessories. Priced right

Weakness:

Owners manual does not describe some things well

This is the 4th projector I have owned and the third LCD. I will never agan bother with a CRT unit. With picture quality like this there is no need to hassle with the size...weight or setup. Skintones are really amazing. Black level is good and while the whites seem a bit saturated it is a small price to pay for this projector. Purchased for just a little over $5000 I consider it a bargain.

Strength:

Inexpensive (at the time!), ease of setup, flexibility of inputs, quality of picture, built-in line doubler, reliable. Rock solid.

Weakness:

Documentation, availability of technical information, unable program into multi-function remote (any ideas?),no keystone correction when inverted (out 1/2" in 54" vert.)

Very satisfied. I've used this projector at home now for over 20 months in a dedicated theater with no windows. Large (96"w x54"h), brilliant picture. I only use the RGB input. Pay attention to condition of power and quality of cables. Check filter periodically. I need help with source for lamps and remote programming. Please email.

Strength:

Very bright and sharp picture, excellent color uniformity (no discernable localized purple/green tint splotches).

Weakness:

Like most (if not all) LCD projectors, black levels are dark grey (not black). Also has low, but discernable fan noise.

The Mitsubishi VL-2000 projector is a very good buy for the ~ $5000 I paid. I also looked at the Sony VPL-VW10HT and the Sharp XV-DW100U. Both were excellent, but their costs were 1.7X (Sony) and 2X (Sharp) the Mitsubishi's cost. Also, while the native 16:9 display ratio of the Sony looked attractive at first glance, it would have required a significantly larger screen to show 4:3 aspect ratio sources at the same size as the Vl-2000 (Native 4:3). While I often watch letterboxed DVDs, I spend at least 60% of the time watching 4:3 sources.

Strength:

Great picture and that's the main thing, easy to setup and use.

Weakness:

Instruction manual tells you what functions are for but doesn't explain how to use them. You have to play around and experiment.

Overall, the performance on this projector is real nice and the price is right. For around or under 5K the job it does is so good I can't see spending 10K or more for another product that will do just a bit better. Hooked up to a high definition receiver and a mini sound system, my home theater is complete. Tonight's feature starts at 8 and can you please bring the popcorn?

Strength:

Cheap, high resolution

Weakness:

Don't expect to see anything unless it's at night. Lack of keytone correction when upside down.

This is my first projector and I like it as far as the quality of picture goes. I kept on hearing how bad projectors can be with low AL, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. Looks like I need to get new kind of light fixture and a thick curtain.

Consider the price I paid this is not a bad deal. Same with a 56" HDTV-ready rear projection TV but I get 80".

Strength:

Excellent Picture, Ceiling Mount included, 4x3 or 16x9 switchable, Great video adjustments w/ full Gamma Correction

Weakness:

Manual, Lamp Life, Remote Control

Great projector! I have also found the whites to be very hot, but this unit is so versatile with its video adjustments, that I found I could control this easy enough.
Watch your contrast control, and clamp position.

I feed my sources through an external line doubler and send them to the projector via its RGB input. I find that this sharpens the picture a little more and creates a more accurate color rendition.
Don't get me wrong, the projector has an excellent line doubler built in, I just found the S-Video and composite inputs to be a little softer and a little green tinged.

Great Value. Paid $3075. Compared the new Sony HT10, and Sharp projector, and couldn't see spending additional money.
