Price Paid:  $20000.00

Summary:
The PL-61cx. WOW. Holy #$@&. Got to see it. Well the wife thought it cost too much and it seemed odd for a TV to be mounted to the wall, now she is hooked on it. This is a great unit and you must check it out for yourself. We are using it with a Pioneer DV-AX10 and it's like looking out of a window. Hook up was easy and fine tuning the unit was a snap with the V.E. disk. The image it self is 54" x 31" and is plunty large for our 12' x 14' room. Caution the cables you use will show there faults with this unit. We have started using Kimber Kables. We use a Panasonic TU-HDS20 DSS/HDTV/TV Tuner for watching broadcast TV and it looks better than anything else I have seen but this unit is made to get the most out of DVD and it works!

Strengths:
The best picture I have ever seen! 60" and only 5" thick.

Weaknesses:
The weekness would be my own, I can't stop watching it!

Similar Products Used:
This is for the new PL-61cx but there is no section for that unit.

Review 2 of 2

Summary:
I got to see this unit instore, shortly before delivery to new Zealands only proud owner. The clarity of picture was intence when compared to other plasma screens or tv's. Product was installed with 250,000.00 worth of audio equipment and run off a limited edition Marantz gold player.
We watched pink floyd "the wall' and was completly blown away, far better than the cinema experience, mostly due to the sounds i assume.

Colour was rich and real, and oyou totally forgot you were in a home theatre.

Amaising...

Strengths:
Amaising picture clarity, no pixilation, a good DVD is like looking out a spotless window

Weaknesses:
Expense

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
