Review NaN of , from San Diego

Price Paid:  $10500.00 from HiFi Buys

Summary:
I had this TV for a few months to put in our den for demostrations and as part as a home theater. I found out later that Sony had a new projection screen called the PFM500A3WU and PFM510A2WU. We demonstrated the PFM500A3WU with blew away anything I saw before and the price was a steal of a deal at $7500.

I think the PlasmaVision is overpriced and is easily beating in its features in comparision to the Sony PFM510A2WU (HDTV). You will do much better to compare the Sony models against the PlasmaVision before making your final purchase and if you fear the Sony warranty policy then you can always get an extended warranty which is good for this kind of commitment.

I feel this is too overpriced for what you can get on the market.
-Wendy

Strengths:
Great picture and has features that are needed and many TVs

Weaknesses:
Not many but not as good as Sony PFM510A2WU.

Similar Products Used:
Sony PFM500A3WU, PFM510A2WU

Review NaN of , from London, United Kingdom

Price Paid:  $11500.00 from Audio Venue

Summary:
This is the worlds first TRUE XGA and HDTV plasma. Near photographic resolution. Black resolution is the most controversial aspect of Plasma performance but this is a good as it gets. I thorougly researched the new generation products and concluded that this is the ideal solution should you prefer the convenience of watching TV in daylight in conjunction with Widescreen Mode for DVD's.
Projectors are a dedicated solution for a full-blown home theatre installation. I do feel comfortable visiting the theatre to view a mere news bulletin!
I use the Sony DVPS9000 DVD/SACD player via composite outputs in progressive mode. My girlfriend is very impressed. Consequently, we now watch far too much TV.
Used in 2 channel mode within a Reference Levinson system driving Watt/Puppy 6 we are satified with the sonic results too. Not as expensive as competitors. The top of the range Pioneer is the only other Plasma with similar performance.
TIP: Always use clean power to you Plasma and source, ie: PS Audio PS600 and don't skimp on interconnects. Nordost and Transparent products are expensive but worth the investment. Once installed on your wall, Plasma's tranform the appearance of your room. The Fujitsu 4222 can be supplied with a brushed aluminium rim which is rather fetching on a white wall.
Good luck, its your choice that matters most in the end. Thanks for reading.

Strengths:
Resolution, Flexibility.. (2xRGB,Component,S-Vid,Composite,RS232 and 2xPC inputs. Appearance, Excellent wall bracket.

Weaknesses:
Not as good as the Madrigal MP9, but then again what is!

Similar Products Used:
Demo's most of the others, Pioneer, Sony, NEC, Panasonic etc..
