Price Paid:  $3500.00 from PC Richards & Son

Summary:
just got it. Very pleased. I got tired of waiting for over 2 months for the infamous Panasonic 42pa20up and two sales people at different places suggested a take a look at this JVC. The screen specs match exactly to the Panasonic--there is a belief that it is a Panasonic panel in a JVC case. I am not disappointed- not at all. I stuck with the EDTV over HDTV for 2 reasons: 1. I like my 2 tuner dish network PVR and until they come out with the HDTV version of that, I'm sticking with it. No point in buying an HDTV tuner and having to take 2 steps back in overall functionality. Plus I have 3 kids with 100 VHS tapes too. 2. Cost

Strengths:
Cost/Value- dollar for dollar you get the most in this set. Vivid colors,Audio is excellent with a small woofer and two speakers (much better than most), feature rich. I am very pleased with how it displays Dish network. Honestly- not as good as my Rear Projection CRT that I replaced, but its very good and better than what I saw in the store. Also-I did change several settings to optimize the picture and that made a big difference. The separate tuner /jack pack box is excelletn for my set up. Makes intallation on the wall and in my rack very easy. Finally- when you watch a DVD with 480p it will blow you away - DVD's are truly amazing on this TV.

Weaknesses:
So far have not found any-and I've looked. Like all plasma's you have to be careful about burn in and they give you some tips in the manual.
