I checked all the 20" flat screens and this set was the least expensive and does it all. Superb picture using ota or sat. Dvd's look great! Great sound modes and ample picture controls. Never a problem. Great buy.

Strengths:
Superb picture. Great sound. Lots of control functions.

Weaknesses:
None

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $139.00 from bestbuy

Summary:
Saw this set at Best Buy. Picture was great and price right, and needed to move older tv to guest room. After unpacking observed the following: Frame had molding flaw (or paint glob) in upper corner and small crack above screen corner along same line. Now I don't have cable, but over-the-air reception was terrible--tried stringing antenna every every reasonable way, but most of the time various severe interference patterns eventually appeared (predecessor ge/rca 19" did much better job). Hooked up the vcr (don't have dvd either). Original tapes looked pretty good, but dubbed tapes were almost unwatchable--exaggerated fluctuations in brightness, gave appearance of line voltage fluctuations; seemed to interact with vcr to exaggerate imperfections, and these flaws didn't recur in exactly the same place when repeating play, so it wasn't entirely the vcr's fault (which played fine on the previous tv). Sometimes when watching, the excellent picture evident in the store would appear, but overall, either I picked a lemon or this tv is just not suited to my viewing needs. Will return it for a refund as soon as it stops raining (or before 30 days are up, even if I have to raft it back).

Strengths:
price

Weaknesses:
quality control, over-the-air viewing, vcr viewing.

Similar Products Used:
ge (rca) 19in.
