Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $1800.00 from dmartstores.com

Summary:
See the strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths:
I did my research on projection tvs for a month before I bought this one. It came down to this and the comparable Hitachi model. Since the hitachi is about 500 more and I couldn't tell the difference between the picture in the store, I went with this one. (By the way, always check products out at the store then write down what it is and buy it online. I saved 200-300 bucks that way.)

The true test of the picture is DVD. When I set the colors and sharpness to maximum, and connected the dvd to the color stream components, the picture is near a regular tube tv quality....except 61 inches!! This tv can get colors so bright and vibrant, hot pinks and reds hurt your eyes, but there is no distortion of the picture. The sound is great, especially if you want to activate the simlulated surround sound. This tv also has it's own sub woofer, and according to the manual, you can use the tv as your subwoofer in a 5.1 digital surround system (haven't tried that yet).

Weaknesses:
I recommend that you get your cable company to replace old cable running through your house, and make sure the picture is clear before the guys leaves. Reason being, is this tv is so big, that it brings out the inperfections in a bad picture that a small tv would not show. Some of my channels look pretty grainy, but on the small tv it looks fine. This is nothing wrong with the tv's picture, it's all the fault of your signal.

This tv will bring all of your friends over to your house permenantly and you will never get any sleep of any kind.

Review 3 of 6

Summary:
The TV retails anywhere between 2200.00 - 2600.00 dollars, plus tax and shipping. I bought it from 800.com for 1999.95 period. Customer service was 5 stars, follow up service 5 stars. Delivery was outstanding. Now for the TV, unbelievable color, outstanding sound. The remote takes a little getting used to, but that may just be the operator. I watched one of the NBA playoff games and I thought I was there. Previously I had a big screen tv and thought it was good, but this one is awesome. Bottom line you can't get a better TV until you upgrade to HDTV, and you can't get better service and no I don't work for 800.com or Toshiba.

Strengths:
Everyting, its a wonderful set

Weaknesses:
I haven't found any yet

Summary:
THIS TV IS THE BEST DEAL FOR THE BUCK...ALSO GOT MINE FROM BEST BUY, 2 WEEKS LATER THEY HAD $100 PRICE DROP SO YOU KNOW I GOT THAT ALSO! The picture this tv offers is awesome! The remote is Backlit! and front inputs just for quick hook up for the camcorder or playstation! The only complaint I have on this tv is that for instance you are watching a basketball game, the farther away the people are the less clearer they are.... My mom has a Hitachi and EVERYTHING IS PERFECT...but the remote SUCKS! If I had to do it again I would still buy the Toshiba...can't pay almost $2500 for a 52" when I can get a 61" for less than $1750.... This TV had the best picture in Best Buy...also got the screen saver....NO COMMENT...!!! :)

SONY ES DA-555 RECEIVER - THE BEST LOVE IT! ESP 2 WAY REMOTE!
SONY 550 DVD - LOTS OF FEATURES NICE!!!
BOSE ACOUSTIMASS 15 ( AWESOME THEATRE SOUND )!!!!!

Strengths:

Weaknesses:
ITEMS IN THE BACKGROUND ARE NOT AS CLEAR

Review 5 of 6

Summary:
I bought this tv at best buy as a return, without a box, manual or a remote.I went to the toshiba web site and downloaded the manual.Toshiba's web site allows you to download any manual for all they toshiba products which is a plus. This tv has a colour stream component input which gives you a better picture than component video, just make sure you get a toshiba dvd to hook up to it,because all toshiba dvd's have colour stream outputs. This tv has a built in subwoofer and surround sound which gives you as good effects as a av recieveri watched farscape on sci-fi and the sound effects were a lot better than listening thru my av reciever. This tv is a very good product. Before i bought this i was at circuit city looking at the hitachi 61 inch and the picture quality is about the same. The only thing the hitachi has on this toshiba is auto convergence which is minor compared to the price i would recommend this toshiba to anyone.Trust me after watching a 61 inch tv you can never go back to a 30 inch.Like all electronics you have to adjust them when you get them home.i wish people would stop looking at specs and just start enjoying they systems, after all after a hard day at work you want to come home and enjoy your system not look at specs.Oh by the way for a tv this size it is extremely easy to move around. I am sorry for the moron who brought back this tv to best buy,i guess he did not have the pateience to give it a fine tuning when he bought it.so many people expect they electronic equipment to work perfectly out of the box but you have to fine tune your equipment when you get it at home.My next purchase will be a toshiba dvd player so i can use my colour sream input.Overall this is the best $1600.00 i have spent so far on my new home entertainment system.

Strengths:
Excellent picture after you have adjusted it.

Weaknesses:
none yet
