Review NaN of , from Tri-Cities, WA

Price Paid:  $1500.00

Summary:
This is an excellent TV for the price. I have no complaints so far on this set. The sound quality is ok but most people running this set will probably be running through a AV receiver as I am. I have the speakers turned off anyway, so its not much of an issue. There are plenty of jacks for connecting equipment.

Weaknesses:
None that I have found so far

Review NaN of , from Burlington Vermont

Price Paid:  $1500.00 from The Good Guys

Summary:
Get it while you can.

Strengths:
A great system for the money. Since HDTV's won't fully take off or be broadcast on more than three channels for another 5-7 years, this is a great set, with no weakness I have found yet.

Weaknesses:
None

Review NaN of , from Los Angeles

Price Paid:  $1500.00 from Good Guys

Summary:
Unless you can afford the WEGA XBR's the regular wegas I feel are not really worth the money. I was about to buy a 36" Wega when I noticed I liked the picture of this 43" Toshiba RPTV better and it was less expensive, and lighter. They really need to put line doublers into all wegas not just the XBRs.

Strengths:
The best picture out of any RPTV even close to this price range. Also very slim at 1.5 feet deep.

Sony 36" WEGA

Review NaN of , from Scottsdale, Arizona

Summary:
We ordered this set for fathers day. We would have liked a 50 inch model for $100 less but it would not fit our built in wall unit. We compared it to the 43 inch Sony and found it better suited for our household. We compared them side by side at a home theater dealer and not the local Best Buy/Circuit City. We found the convergence a little better on the Toshiba and a little better color as well while the Sony had a slightly better sound system. The Toshiba Color Stream inputs along with the two back and one front S-video and audio jacks promised better connectivity for multiple equipment. The Toshiba also offered several gimmicks not on the Sony like a nine channel favorite menu. The Toshiba once delivered has had very good color even with a sunny west facing family room. The built in shield is a plus and minus due to reflections off the screen but does make for very good contrast. Easy to use but slow menu system with one Major flaw. It covers most of the screen making it hard to adjust color/tint/contrast. We caught a sale making it a excellent buy at $1450 about $50 less than the sale price on the Sony.

Strengths:
Excellent Picture with 3 S-video inputs, High contrast screen and low price for a 43 inch projection.

Weaknesses:
Sound could be better, Menu's could be better designed, Like all 43 inch sets a little pricey
