from local hi-fi Summary: After having owned this set for about 6 months, I must say that I am estatic about its performance. I could not have hoped for more. My casual viewing has turned into movie nights several times a week. Our DVD collection has went from some to about 75. I'm so glad I got it during football season.
The color saturation is outstanding and very sharp. I did have to spend a deal of time with the avia tune up disk to get viewing to my favorite levels, but that is true for any set. The black levels are very good as is the convergence. I do notice some scan lines, but I sit 13'away.
I had a tough time deciding not to buy HDTV. I had actually purchased a Mits ws-55805. I had it in the house for about three weeks and decided I could not live with it. It had red push that was intollerable. Since I usually watch DishNet, sport, and DVD's I did not notice any better picture. I prefer my Tosh hands down over the Mits, regardless of price...and I paid only a third of the price for the Tosh.
Research has revealed that the 61a61 and 61a62 use the exact same 7" crt as the hx line of HD fptv. I suppose this is actually a money saving device for Tosh as they can limit the number of crt that they use in their products. Strengths: Great price
Outstanding viewing quality
anti-glare screen protector
my pioneer elite remote picked it up fine
oh ya, did I mention price!!! Weaknesses: my wife and I had to move it in ourselves... Similar Products Used: mits-ws55805, Hitachi 11c32x
