Price Paid:  $3200.00 from Leons

Summary:
I have had my TV now for almost 2 years and I love it. It has provided hours upon hours of entertainment. I also have a Samsung 42 inch plasma it is newer however when I want to really enjoy my movie watching, I watch it on my Toshiba. It has great color responce and does not blend the different shades of blacks. My peers all went the LCD route instead of DLP, and I can never really enjoy watching a movie on a LCD after watching my Toshiba. The Toshiba warrenty is great to, I had problems with liquid getting trapped between the two screens, this happened because I did not clean the screen properly, I had a new screen within days of me informing Toshiba. The only problem
I ever had was this past Christmas, my bulb burnt out but it was just at the start of the Christmas weekend. I spent Christmas without my main TV but I purchased the 4 year warrenty which even covered the prise of the bulb. The bulb only lasted a little less then 2 years, but I have a very large movie collection, so it was in constant use. For picture quality I have found my favorite, the only downfall would be the prise of the bulbs after my warrenty wears out.

Strengths:
The picture quality is great even after 2 years, does not blend in the different shades of black! The stand makes the whole unit look great

Weaknesses:
Price of the bulb, and only has one HDMI connection.

Price Paid:  $3698.00 from wilson appliance

Summary:
I purchased Toshiba 52HM94 3/28/05 and am the only user. On 6/4/05 the lamp went out. Toshiba customer service has stated it is "like a light fixture with a defective bulb" In order to replace lamp you must fax customer svc the sales receipt--as of now lamp are only available through Toshiba. It will take two weeks b/c they have no way to expedite. TV is not user friendly and customer svc not helpful via toll free number or website. TV Guide on screen will not work if VCR is hooked to TV. Picture quality is fair however sound not good. Difficult to use remote and hook up for Toshiba dvd/vcr difficult and once again receive wrong information from customer svc regarding hook up. Overall not a good buy and not good customer svc. I would rate the product quality low due to lamp life--also conflict about how long lamp in warranty 6 months or one year.

Strengths:
Nice stand

Weaknesses:
Poor lamp life Poor sound Poor customer svc

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
