Review NaN of , from Edmonton

Price Paid:  $2100.00 from A&B Sound

Summary:
I searched for months and finally decided on this set. I looked at HDTV but at this time where I live we are several years from mainstream HDTV brodcast and on cable TV the digital sets sucked! My arcam dv88 produces a picture that rivals HDTV sets with progressive DVD players. As a transition set this one cannot be beat for price and picture quality. One thing, you need to use the comonent input from your DVD player to realize the true potential of this sets picture, also make sure to calibrate it with AVIA or The Video Essentials because it is way off from factory. It is also a good idea to have the service guy come out and calibrate the set after a few months of use, mine was off a bit in picture center and advanced clibration (convergance). Wow, what a difference it makes, you can save several thousand dollars and have a very comparable picture with this set when comared to others.

Strengths:
Great picture! On screen menu remote

Weaknesses:
At this price... none

Review NaN of , from Montreal,Quebec,Canada

Price Paid:  $1800.00

Summary:
I have shopped for almost 8 month to find the perfect rptv to fit my budget and my livingroom. Asking all sorts of question, what size, HD or not, witch brand,Who gives the best warrenty,.... To finnaly make a dicision and stop on the 50ax60. I have to tell you this "WoW!" I now think that you nerver thruly experience Hometheater until you see it on a big screen. I jump from 27" to 50" almost double the size. When i receved the screen i first hooked up with s-vhs cabling from my dvd to the set. it was looking ok but not what i was expecting. Then i dicided to try with tree monster audio cable to hook up by the colorstreem (component). Men got to tell you it was like day and night.
Everything was clear and bright. I ran the Avia calibration disk on it and did a few adjustment on it, but not that mutch. The sound is good, a bit boomy but still ok! The menu a good and easy to follow and understand. The universal backlid remote is easy to use and program.

The only thing that i think could be a bit better is the tuner, because if you have cable and your cable quality is average it is gone a look less than average. The best thing is to use the tuner of the VHS.

Overall It is the best buy for that category of rptv.

Strengths:
About Everything!

Weaknesses:
Almost none!
