Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $1288.00 from circuit city

Summary:
I watched quite a few sets when I came upon this and I was blown away by the vivid colors and smooth clarity.I play my PS3 with HDMI and the 1080i is nothing short of spectacular,I get comments on the picture from everyone, the whites and blacks are superb.I didn't think I would get this clarity from a projection tv,I guess technology is really growing, and this set is proof of that.I have had no problems, but just in case I bought the 3 year in house full warranty, they come fix it,you don't take it anywhere unless it's being replaced.Don't bash a company or a set if you didn't cover your own ass.

Strengths:
Has all the connections you need,HDMI.Beautiful picture and yes it is a handsome set physically on or off!

Weaknesses:
None yet!

Similar Products Used:

Sony projection

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $1800.00 from www.onecall.com

Summary:
Never Buy Online unless they agree to a return policy. I purchased my set 08/10/05 and received it a week later. The set had a problem known as hourglassing which means the lines curve inward. I had the set serviced 3 times and eventually SAMSUNG replaced the set. Problem is, they replaced it with a refurb that had the same problem. Bottom line, if it costs in the thousands, make sure they will take it back if your not happy. I am not happy.

Strengths:
Bright colors

Weaknesses:
floating mirror which the tech says is unique with this model and potentially the cause of my problem..

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $1899.00 from Tweeter

Summary:
Samsung's HL-R4266W DLP RPTV is a real gem. Stunning HD in 1080i and 720p. Progressive scan DVD presentation is jaw-dropping. I purchased a Philips 42FD9954 42" HD Plasma set in 12/03. The screen died in August of this year. The screen was covered by a 2-year warranty (the set was only 1 year). Philips, however, didn't have a 42FD9954 to replace mine, so they gave me a prorated refund. This, as it happens was a gift from above because it allowed me to purchase my Samsung HL-R4266W DLP Projection TV. I'd previously owned a Toshiba (non-DLP) RPTV. Although the HD picture was impressive, it can't match the presentation from my Samsung 42" DLP. Black is presented as, well, black. Gradient colors are shown in seamless fashion (not always the case with my Philips plasma).

Strengths:
- Impressive design (even looks good powered off). - Great variety of inputs. - HDMI input. - 5th-generation DLP DMD. - It's not a Philips product.

Weaknesses:
None noted thus far.

Similar Products Used:
Philips 42FD9954. Toshiba 42H81.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
