Price Paid:
$0.00 Summary: Was a great TV but has major reliability problems. Do Not Buy. Strengths: Great picture, price. Flexible inputs. Good looking. Weaknesses: Not reliable, will not last. A TV at this price should last 15+ years. I feel like I rented this TV. It comes on at random times, I have to keep in unplugged when not in use. And now the picture is shot, it only uses the middle 50% of the screen and is shaped like an hourglass. The RGB guns are offset by over an inch. Useless! I got three good years, which comes out to about $466/year. Rip off!
One more thing, the converence has to be set manually and only has a single point of reference and no auto-correction - so pick which part of the screen you want to look sharp, and ignore the rest. (until it goes and all looks terrible) Similar Products Used: Who doesn't have a lot of TVs? This TV is a high performer but quirky... like my Sharp 32" (another story!)

Price Paid:
$1200.00
from Best Buy Summary: My samsung PCK520R went out after having it for approx. 2 years, I guess I was fortunate enough to have bought the extended warranty. However, it is now Sept. 6, 2003 and my TV has been out since June 26, 2003. After several attempts to fix the TV, leaking tube, bad deflection board, another leaking tube, beside wrong parts sent by Samsung time and time again, nothing has worked. So I sit here paying for NFL Ticket and can't watch the first game of the season. Best Buy has not been very cooperative and neither has the only service center in town. The stories I have received from both have not only been contradicting but unbelievable. I am fed up at this point and do not recommend this product to anyone. Unfortunately I am forced to buy through Best Buy again because of the warranty and have come to find out it will cost me 2 x the cost I originally paid for this defective Samsung Big Screen because of all the HDTV models now available. Best Buy only has 3 TV's that are projection without the HDTV feature. I am seriously thinking about taking the store credit which is what they give you and purchasing another TV somewhere else.
Frustrated in Florida Strengths: None Weaknesses: Everything Similar Products Used: None

Price Paid:
$1299.00
from Best Buy Summary: I'm another buyer of a 2000 model Samsung PCK520R Big screen tv bought Oct. 2000 I thought that I did all of my home work comparing different brands & models and went with the Samsung with a service plan well all was ok till July 27 then it went out no problem called Best Buy to get service2 days later shop picked up tv returned 5 days later only to go back out 2days later shop picked up and after 3 attempts in the shop now Sept23rdwas told by shop owner that problem was with bad Samsung parts and was waiting to find out if warranty company would by back tv since they were not making any money trying to repair tv. well after that I called Best Buy and finaly talked to somebody that would do something and started the no lemon procdurewon't know till atleast Oct9th.well then I wrote an email to Samsung to let them know what a pile their Tv's are. well i recived a reply 9/28 asking me to call 9/30 so we will see. Strengths: What a deal for the price great picture &sound with all the features that I wanted. (just remember you get what you pay for) Weaknesses: I was lucky that it lasted longer than the others Durability is not an issue with this TV so if you want a short term TV that's cheap go for it and to the people that haven't had any problems well try looking to see if you can find that same model and you better pray that this won't happen to you me I wont by anything with Samsung on it Similar Products Used: RCA 43 inch big sreen
