from Sears Summary: Recently purchased this unit from Sears during a customer appreciation sale, (10% off, free financing for a year, free dvd player). After researching HDTV I found that it did not justify the price premium at this time. Read the decent review of the RCA in Sound and Vision and figured I would take the plunge on the low end of the RPTV market.
Firswt off I recommend that you have the store deliver the unit for you. It wouldn't fit in either my Explorer or Suburban! I ended carting it home in a trailor. However, the included casters made moving the unit ito my house a breeze!
I adjusted the pic out of the box following the giudes on many of the sites, (and per S&V's findings). Wow! Great picture. This TV can be VERY bright. Some may like that. Thankfully it was very easy to adjust.
The salseman at Sears really pushed the service plan hard, especially having a technician converge the CTR's. I told him that I believed I could do that myself...sure enough, when I arrived home I opened the convergence menu and reset the unit, (it was pretty close out of the box)
A note on the sharpness setting... I found that out of the box it was set to high causeing the picture to look pixelated, (sorry for the new word). Cranked it down a bit and it looks fantastic.
Overall great product at the price point, (entry level).
