Price Paid:  $2300.00 from Wenatchee Audio Video

Summary:
I bought a Pioneer sd p4683, and after 18 months, the convergence board went out.
$400 dollars there.
6 months later, convergence board, bad solder, burned components.
Another 6 months, (set is now 30 months old), more bad solder, and a burned out power supply.... on and on........
I have now owned this set for 6 years. The original list price on this unit, was $2799.
I paid 2300 with tax. Since then, i have put another $2000 into it, and pioneer says , its not their problem, after all it lasted through their lame 1 year warranty period.
I asked them how they can justify their position , after seeing the history on this television, and they said " You just have to take your chances!".
I have owned Pioneer equipment since the early 70's, and after having to deal with their support people, I will never purchase another Pioneer product.
The Company, In my opinion, has gone totally down the drain, as far as customer support is concerned.
After all, If they can't help out with an obviously defective product, considering I have spent over $10,000 on Pioneer electronics in my lifetime, who are they going to support?

Strengths:
Picture quality, when its not broke down.

Weaknesses:
Poor quality construction, Customer support totally absent.

Similar Products Used:
Nothing with such a terrible track record, and such terrible support.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
