Price Paid:  $1800.00 from ABC Warehouse

Summary:
I have owned this TV since Feb. of 2000 So far its been excellent. This is my first Big Screen that i have owned but have several friends and relatives with them. Brands they have are mitsubishi, toshiba and sony. My philips blows them away. Even they say they would of wished they bought the one i have. Mine was even cheaper by the minimum of $500. With the philips you can view from the side with out loosing the quality of the picture. This is the first time i bought a Philips/Magnavox product. I do have a Philips FR930 A/V Receiver hooked up to it for surround. There is a difference between Philips and Philips/Magnavox. The Philips alone is the higher quality of the two. Which was easily noticable in the Stereo equipment. So at first i wasnt sure what brand to buy not owning a Philips/Magnavox product before. Well i took the chance and have not regreted it yet. I also recommend the Philips Receivers for surround or just listening to music. I do own a Harmon/Kardon, Kenwood and a Carver Receivers and i hate to say but for half the price of the other receivers you cant go wrong with the Philips. I hope this helps with your decision on what to buy. I know i added more info than just the tv but most people today are going with surround sound. I guess i could add my two cents on speakers. For my main speakers i have a pair of old Altec Lansing Santanas2''s(sold new in 1978 for $1200) for center channel i have a infinty one and for rears i have Klipsch Quintets. Well i babbled on long enough...Good Luck!!!

Strengths:
price, quality, front a/v plus and ease of use

Weaknesses:
The screen is made up of two screens and a screen protector. Our 2 yr old sprayed windex on the screen and it ran down and got in between all the screens. I had to take the screens off to clean them and found it to be very hard to get them cleaned with out leaving some scratches on the inner screen. There should be some type of rubber stripping around the outer bracket to avoid this happening. Im sure im not the first one this has happened to. Also im sure Philips is not the only one with this problem.
