Price Paid:  $1995.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
I bought this tv for a great price as a "open box" from Circuit City. Got it home and it had one wierd quirk, once in awhile some code numbers would pop up in the upper corner of the screen. But was easily fixed by CC, the wires that run to the front switch panel had to be moved further away from the color guns. Since then this tv has worked to perfection! Anyone who comes over, says without a doubt it's the best picture on that big of tv (61' is huge!!) they have ever seen!

I did write that the sound was a negative. It is ok sound but not great... this really doesn't matter to me, because any program of any importance I use my home theater system for sound anyways. I truly believe for the money, there is not a better television on the market right now. You can go and pay $4000 or $5000 and not get any better picture!

Strengths:
Fantastic Picture, great looks, good menus

Weaknesses:
Sound

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
