Summary:
This tv gives off so much light that in bright scenes its like you have the lights on in the room. This also means that even with flourescent lights flooding the room the image on this tv doesn't wash out like a lot of other RPTVs. Watching DVDs on this screne is a joy. The resolution, the color, the brightness are all excellent. Flesh tones come out excellent and with the aid of DVD you can even see all the pores during close ups. I agree with the last review, for 50" TVs in this price range it could be argued this TV is the best (you get what you pay for). The image it puts out even rivals the $15000 Runco my Uncle has. The image is aided a bit by a built in screen saver, which is a plus for more than one reason. This TV also has a 4th set of audio/video inputs on the front of the tv to allow quick hook up of a camcorder or gaming console system. Just hook the audio 4 outputs of the tv to your receiver and you'll get the sound from whatever device you hook up out of your stereo too. I to liked the casters but I just wished all of them rotated and not just the ones on the left.

I did not like the lack of Component inputs (DVD has them but TV doesn't, but I doubt the difference would have been that great). Also lack of direct Video mode switching can make programing macros on universal remotes a little tricky, but not impossible (just count carefully, don't punch macros out of order, and hope you don't exceed your key press limit).

I helped my parents decide on this TV and it has made me decide I need to start saving so I can get on like it. You will not be disappointed with this tv.

Strengths:
Great Picture, Really Bright, Lots of Inputs and a few Outputs.

Weaknesses:
No Component Inputs, No way to directly select Video modes (can only cycle as far as I have found), a little expensive for a 50"

Similar Products Used:
RCA, Sony, Zenith, Toshiba, Runco

Review NaN of , from London, Ontario, Canada

Summary:
I found this TV to be excellent in all regards except one perhaps. You have to turn off the 3D-YC filter when watching video tapes. I have been told by Panasonic that is is designed for off-air broadcasts only. Apparently your video signal is already set and is not open for filtering. Using this 3D-YC filter with video tapes can cause flashing of the screen. I do not have a DVD player yet so I don't know the effects there.

Strengths:
Clarity on most things. Love the caster wheels.

Weaknesses:
The 3D-YC filter.

Summary:
Best picture by far in the $2,000.00 range. The 3D Y/C filter really makes the picture much clearer and brighter than comparable models from Toshiba, RCA, and Phillips/Magnavox. I've been very pleased with the quality of the TV.
