Price Paid:  $1587.00 from A&B Sound

Summary:
Price is in Canadian dollars. This is my first big screen tv. I bought the Panasonic based on the positive reviews in several online forums. Out of the box, the Panasonic produced a solid picture, even with an older interlaced DVD player. After buying a new progressive scan DVD player, the picture was even better. Standard definition television, from my Directv receiver (S Video), seems to be hit and miss. Some channels look better than others. But large tv's will magnify poor source material. After calibrating the Panasonic with Avia, it produced a picture with rich colors (without bleeding or blooming), with a lot of detail. The stretch modes are very good. The Panasonic can also be viewed from wider angles than is normally expected in a RPTV. There is also a very well thought our shelf, which is used for my center channel speaker. Inputs are plentiful, including two wideband component inputs and an HDMI input.

Strengths:
Clear, bright picture, especially for DVD
Plenty of inputs
Handy shelf
Saves settings for tv and DVD
Stretch modes are very good
Tweakable

Weaknesses:
Picture on SD could be better (not really a fault of the tv)
