Summary: Purchased last year and am still in love with this TV. I based my decision to buy on a side by side comparison of the quality of the picture with other brands. Hitachi had the best picture with Mitsubishi a close second. Stangely enough, I found Sony's picture quality was the worst. I've owned nothing but Sony TV's prior to this purchase so I was surprised by the subpar performance of their HD sets.
Strengths: Picture quality is superb. Auto focus is an excellent and useful feature.
Weaknesses: Rear projection TV's are large. I have a very large family room so this does not present a problem for me. However, for those with limited space a rear projection HD TV may not be the appropriate choice.

Strengths: Picture Quality unsurpassed by any tv.
Weaknesses: no weaknesses, firm solid set.

Summary: This is a first impression. Have had this tv for a week. First HD is great. The usual Hitachi red push is there, but calibration should take care of that soon.
Found at CC for 3399 far less than advertised everywhere else. Plent of inputs: 3 antenna and 5 video, 2 are component. A cheap $29 Radio Shack antenna brought in every Chicago HD station available.
