Price Paid:  $1875.00 from Rex

Summary:
Bought at Rex for a little under 1900.00 best price I found in my area for this many features an quality. This model has outstanding picture quality and sound, the 61" screen is just great in my living room.I definetly recommend purchase of this T.V.

Strengths:
Outstanding picture quality and exceptional sound. Has a great look. Plenty of inputs.

Weaknesses:
None so far, although the factory directions on how to operate all the features could be a little more in depth, with all the features this thing has they seem to just skim the surface in the explainations.

Review 2 of 54

Price Paid:  $1800.00 from Sears

Summary:
Basically, I agree with the reviews found here. My unit was a closeout at Sears, but, it looked better than all but the HD units, so I bought it. I'll go for HD in 2 or 3 years, for now I'm very pleased.

Recently, the green CRT died and had to be replaced. The unit is still under standard warranty and it cost me nothing. Picture looks great again. Still glad I purchased the 3 year extended warranty.

Strengths:
Same as other reviews, very good picture, lots of inputs, etc.

Weaknesses:
Some directional problems w/ remote. I have to point it at the base of the TV for it to work.

Review 3 of 54

Price Paid:  $1420.00 from www.crazyg.com

Summary:
After extensive research (including the reviews here) I finally bought a big-screen TV. I didn't feel like paying 3k+ so I passed on HDTV, but I wanted hi-quality at a low price. In the 50-57" non-HDTV range, I don't think there is a better TV than this one. I have seen none of the problems that some here have mentioned. I am not an expert by any means, but so far the picture and sound has been absolutely flawless. And I took a risk (I suppose the risk is still there) in that I bought this "factory reconditioned". I have had good exp in past with factory reconned electronics and this has been no different. The unit looks and is performing flawlessly. From what I've seen on here I paid the lowest price yet at $1,420 including shipping (no sales tax). All of the sub-$1,500 big-screens I have seen in the stores are the junk Samsung or RCA type models that look lousy even in the store. I have only had the TV for 3 weeks now, but so far I have 0 complaints, other than that of my wife who can't drag me from this bad boy!

Strengths:
flawless picutre (as far as I can tell), awesome sound, different modes and features, nice styling

Weaknesses:
remote; on-screen menu is a bit clumsy

Price Paid:  $1900.00 from Bleekers

Summary:
What can I add to all of these reviews. They are all bang-on. I sit about 10' away and the picture is great!

Strengths:
Great picture, excellent focus, great audio/video options, very good built-in sound

Weaknesses:
Remote input selection (have to cycle thru about 6 modes)

Review 5 of 54

Price Paid:  $1899.00 from Sears

Summary:
For a year now, I've shopped and compared about everything out there. Came down to a Sony V or S series or the Hitachi 53"...new model...finally put the 6 year old Mitsu up for sale and unloaded it at a reasonable price. Struggled for a few more days on what to buy...

It boiled down to finally springing for the Hitachi...why? Well, Sears priced matched the best deal I could find at $1899.00 and the local Sears is about 4 blocks from the house...sooooo...I figured, hey, if I don't like it, I can live with it for a while and still take it back without a big hassle..

I've calibrated it and hooked this Bad Boy up and unless something pretty dramatic comes out while I'm still in Sears 90 day return period, you're gonna have to drag me away from this TV. It's absolutely a fabulous set and in my opinion as good as any digital set I looked at costing up to $1000.00 more.

This set will tide me over for the next several years and at that point, I believe the flat plasma sets will be within a consumers price range as well as the digital standard should be in place.

I could stand to loose the screen protector due to the glare...otherwise, A-1, period.

Strengths:
Incredible Picture, Fabulous Sound

Weaknesses:
Glare from Screen Protector

Similar Products Used:
Misubishi
