I recently moved into a larger house and am in the middle of changing over from a high quality 2.1 Denon seperates system to an Onkyo 9.2 single receiver. The theater room is 25'x32' and after setting up to a 7.1 with my 2 front mains bi-amped, I found a major dead spot behind my main listening couch. I looked up a few subs on the internet and asked a few questions and even went to the local "Hi Def" store to hear a few, "high def" subs. Austin Texas is not what I would call Audiophile friendly. I have tried Polk in the past and had good luck with there pro model subs, so I tried a few of them out and returned everyone of them. I have been using a Yr.2001 model Velodyne spl10bv and I absolutely LOVE this sub but its getting older in Hrs. and years and to tell you the truth, I have wanted it to die many many times just so I could go buy a new one. While looking for new Velo's on the web, I came across the Rythmik brand. Have heard of them but have never heard the sub. I ordered one of the FV15HP's. After installing it, I was in a new kind of infactuation. I think some call this the L word or just love for short. It made my music tight like a virgin 20yr.old and smooth in places smooth never existed in previous systems. For sh*ts & giggles I put in a Primus CD, (Sailing the seas of cheese) at -25Htz on my system and it blew all of the CD's out of the CD rack. If I hadn't of had the windows open, I would have been picking up glass & CD's. This sub has A LOT of power! Very clean and super efficient. I am buying another one today and put the Velo away some where like a museam. Did I mention that these subs are worth 3x the asking price? I only payed around $1,200 for each. that is about what I paid for the Velo in 2001. I would have paid 2500 if I had of heard it first without knowing the price.
Lots of clean butiful power without a trace of audible distortion, and for the price, YOU CAN'T BEAT IT!!!! It is a beautiful hand crafted peice of furniture that you can hide pretty well if you wanted to, but you can't hide the sound! Peace to all movie lovers and audiophiles everywhere. Bo.
