Weakness:

too basic features, design stinks it has a big neck in back

well I discovered the whole line of sharp are o.k. and I was impressed with this one it would of been perfect if they would of designed the back flat.nice t.v. set at a fairly good price (bargain) totally awesome.I now have A sharp(32lx-2000)its the same but bigger back is flat and more features thi is the way to go if you got 200.00 bucks extra to dish out.

Strength:

Very low price, PIP, good video and audio

Weakness:

Really difficult to say...but DISPLAY button does not show program information

Very good features for such a low price...i mean where do you get 27" TV with Picture In Picture (PIP) for less than 300$. The audio and video both look pretty good to me. Very well designed remote too.

For a TV enthusiast, PIP is an extremely useful feature...especially if you are also a sports fan. You can watch a movie in the main window, while keeping a view on the progress of the match. When something interesting happens you just SWAP the windows, watch your match and then go back to your movie.

It is also very useful for avoiding ads in between programs. For a normal TV, during ad break you very commonly surf other channels and come back after some time. But quite often you miss some portion of your main program. But with PIP you can keep looking at that channel in the PIP window, and come back AS SOON AS the program starts.

The only thing that could have been better with this TV is if it could show program/movie name through the DISPLAY button. My VCR (Toshiba) does display that information for the cable input. Since the TV has a PIP, I use my VCR to surf in parallel looking at the program/movie name. So it is not such a big deal :-)

I am very pleased with it so far !!!
