Strength:

Excellent sound, good value, looks.

Weakness:

none

I to was amazed of the quality of these speakers... especially for the price. The sub is pretty good with good bass reproduction. I usually set the sub volume to just over half to avoid any distortion at hi volumes (anyone who watched EP2 and the opening sequence would no what I mean).

Strength:

Matches our Sony Wega (Vega?) TV (Silver color)Good sound out of small speakers... easy to hide and hang

Weakness:

"Custom" stands and rear channel hangers had to be ordered direct from Sony

Didn't want to spend a ton of money. My wife was sick and tired of nothing matching in our home. So, in our family room.... things were gonna match, look good and not take over the whole damn room! Enter these Sony speakers. She even blew the extra $ to order the stands direct from Sony. Sound better, and look better, than thier smaller boxed set brothers. (Can't remember thier name.) Bought the smaller set, hooked it up.... and put it all back into the boxes and returned em to Best Buy 2 days later for the "nicer" set. Well worth the extra $150.
Now she has an entertainment room that doesn't look like I pieced it together from garage sales, and I have a system that sounds very good for DVD movies. From Saving Private Ryan to Star Wars.... sure, we coulda spent alot more and had better sound, but for about $500 bucks.... this is very good. I couldn't have pieced together anything better for the money.

Strength:

Excellent power from tiny speakers! 2 full range drivers are excellent. 120W handling capacity! Looks Cool!

Weakness:

No high range tweeter, only a concern if you are that damm critical because it makes no difference

Well I am a uni student with a very strict budget and wanting to upgrade my crappy bedroom prologic system. I also didn't want a floor standing speaker system as I have a small room and the sound would be extremely muddy. SO with my budget I decided to purchase this speaker system along with the sony strde475 receiver.

Now I am what you would say, a audio man but with little money so purchasing models that do just about the same thaing at over double the price would ba a ludicrous decision.

Well, after hookup, I was blown away! To test the system out I wacked on everyone's favorite DTS movie, Gladiator. The sub really kicked in beautifully reaching those gut renching poundings right through my parents house!

These speakers offer immense clarity and looks (after adjusting EQ on receiver or it won't sound as good)! The centre channel is exactly the same as the mains and rears but don't let this get you down because films with lots of dialogue are excellently reproduced through the centre and aren't too muddy or yucky.

If you are looking for a satellite speaker system and want something that'll blow your head off, get this package! It rivals some of the good bose systems but at a fraction of the cost!

My reccomendation is GET IT if you don't want floor standing speakers or only have a mid to small sized room to watch HT in. Also, these support music and CD music in a fantastic way. All I want now is SACD or DVD audio to compliment the system, oh well back to saving!!
