Strength:

Excellent reproduction of the limited information delivered to rear channels.Good power capeabilities which make it compatible with so many alternative power sources. Whether they be Solid State Multichannel Amps or Mono Blocks. I'm using Marantz MA6100 Mono Blocks bridged to deliver 300 watts into each rear speaker and they blow away everyone who listens.Movies come alive and suck you in, and move you emotionally.Makes a bad movie a good experience, and a good movie-well you do the math...

Weakness:

None, other than the limitations of having to choose between White and Black. If you can find any weaknesses you are looking too hard. Because you definately can't hear any.And you can quote me on that.

Love the overall sound transmission from front to rear and side to side. The sound is clear and accurate. Isolated them with Aurelex Mopads and they came alive. Just purchased one more for Rear Surround 6.1, for the $ it's the best deal out there. You won't be disappointed.

Strength:

Efficient, attractive, wall-mountable speakers that create a nicely dispersed rear surround field for movies.

Weakness:

Good ol' direct radiating monopole speakers might be a better choice for multichannel music?

I first heard these speakers in a demo launch event at my local dealer, and EVERY one of us that heard the Lobby Scene in The Matrix was blown away by the improvement in the surround field, richness, and depth these speakers made, in comparison to PSB's own Image 1B (my previous rear speaker, which wasn't too shabby). I traded my 1B's in for the 10S's there and then. The 10S sounds like a much larger speaker than the 1B, despite having the same drivers (though 2 sets of each!). Recently, I rearranged my listening room for much improved sound, and I found that mounting the 10S speakers on the wall behind the listening position greatly improved the sound for 5.1 soundtracks, in comparison to my previous arrangement with the speakers on stands directly to the side of the listening position (similar to how I first heard the speakers, actually). Now that I've upgraded my front speakers from PSB Stratus Bronze & C6i center to Thiel CS1.6 & SCS3 center, however, I'm less enthusiastic about the PSB's. In their price class, though, they're very good. On the other hand, with multichannel audio (DTS music CD's, DVD-A, SACD, etc.) becoming more prevalent, I'm not sure bipolar surrounds are the best way to go. Don't ever try listening to stereo music through a pair of PSB 10S, e.g., or you'll wish you hadn't upgraded from monopole PSB 1B's! And while the quality is great for the price, there are certainly better speakers out there (for more money); Thiel and JM-Lab are some examples.

Strength:

Efficient speaker (93dB). Easy to mount on the wall.

Weakness:

cheap grill - easy to break (common to all the image line of speakers

Looks good, sounds good! I already had PSB Image 6Ts and a Subsonic 6 so I found that the 10s fit right in.

Strength:

The best part is that you can enjoy the brightness and clarity of the highs without any shrieking or shrills in some metal like tweeters in many brands. The mid range sound gives the voice such a great presence.

Weakness:

None...

PSB is consistant in providing quality sound throughout their speaker line. The 10S speakers have great imaging for music and movies, especially if there is alot of movement like an singer pacing back and forth on stage. The Bipolar design helps give great directional sound from DTS signals on DVDs.

Strength:

Bipolar configuration. PSB quality. Great sound.

Weakness:

None.

The Image 10S surrounds fit in nicely with my PSB Stratus (Minis and C5i) front soundstage. Just had a go with the new SuperBit Fifth Element release and they preformed excellently. My Def Tech HT friend even commented on how well they sounded. I couldn't be happier with these on my walls. They really are fantastic.

Strength:

Great sound quality. Make me feel as if I am back in the theater...

Weakness:

A little bulky, and heavy for my tastes.

I used to think that the Bose systems were the best things that money could buy... then I wised up. I was so proud of the $2000.00 I had invested in my system until I went over to my boyfriends house and heard his setup. (all Polk) I heard the diferrence between a $2k Bose set up and his $8k Polk/Denon setup. (RT2000i, CS400i, F/X 500i, PSW650, AND Denon 4800) I was pretty impressed until I actually started "listening" to it... hahaha

The I went out and pissed him off by spending HALF THAT MUCH on the PSB 7T, 9C, 10S with a REL Storm III, and NAD T761. (after I sold the BOSE, it was only ABOUT $2,200...)

Now, he comes to my place for movies.... I love it!

PSB ROCKS!!!!

Strength:

Great Dynamics
Broad Soundstage

Weakness:

Heavy fir their supplied wall mounts

I started using this product using the old Denon 3801 reciever, and i was impressed with it then. it sounded absoulutely wonderful with my PSB set-up. I did not think that it could get any better... then my reciever decided it wanted to fry itslef, and (thanks to my Buddies at Tweeter...) it was replaced with the 3802. Again, great sound, (even more cool features) and i was back in business. Then I decided that I would follow the advice of a guy on hear and add more power... I used my Denon as a Pre amp, and bought the B&K Ref 7250 amp.... all i can say is:

WOW!!!! This whole system just cam alive! Imaging got even better amd the sound from these was BEAUTIFUL. If you like this kind of sound, go find a delaer and take a listen. You may like it too. This was the sest addition to my wholke system. I used to have bookshelf speakers as my rears, but these are the best.

Just my .02 cents though.

Strength:

surround effects, transitions from fronts to rears well.

Weakness:

none that I have noticed

These surrounds are great. They perform very well with the PSB 6T fronts and 9C center. The surround effects are awesome and you can't pinpoint where they originate, unless the soundtrack wants you to (newer tracks may have some localization in the programing). Could not be happier anywhere near this price range.

Strength:

Great dispersion of sound, Just plain sound GREAT!

Weakness:

No Bi-wiring

Let me just say that these are the most incredible surronds I have heard. I used to have the Polks set up, but I upgraded my speakers to the PSB Image series and WOW!!! You can not go wrong with these. The rear soundstage is totally seamless. With the Polks, you could still localize the rear effects. Not with these abaies. They also sound pretty good when listening to 5 channel stereo too! (I have not yet bought the other two speakers to complete my 7.1 surround with my new denon 4802 - Also great!)

I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a great home theater experience without breaking the bank.

Strength:

Build Quality, Appearance, Clean sound, Price, Bipolar Design

Weakness:

No sound related issues. May be a bit large/heavy for a few people. (Try new Alpha S Bipolar speakers from PSB in that case)

PSB does it again. These speakers are simply amazing. Matched with my Image 5T's in the front, Image 9C in the center and my Subzero, Home Theater rocks. I have listened to numerous DVD's and the surround sound is just astounding. IMHO Bipolar speakers for the rear's is a must. Effects just blend in with the other channels seamlessly. Totally satisfied with my Image 10S. Keep up the good work PSB.

Will post a further review once I've had more time with them.
