Strengths: multi-directional sound effects
clear crisp soundWeaknesses: odd shape limits options on placement
50 watts of rmsBottom Line: I bought these to replace a pair of polk audio R-15's that did not sonically match the rest of the klipsch speakers in my arrray. I was not sure they would be an improvement but i was wrong. they are clear and crisp and the bi-polar wide dispersion characteristic really envelops you. they add another dimension to the sound field ,directing sound to different parts of my room. you might call it a poor man's 6.1 set up the way some sounds seem to come from the back. while the whole klipsch array can be slightly on the bright side i am very happy with the sound the ss.5's produce.you cannot and will not beat the price from vanns. the only downside is you probably have to hang them on the wall, or put them on a shelf. i tried putting them on stands but because of the shape they looked odd. as a result they are facing directly out towards the front .

Strengths: small size, good soundWeaknesses: lack of bass responseBottom Line: Good surround speakers for the price and size, nothing more and nothing less. I use a Denon 3801 receiver and so far the sound coming through these things are pretty clear and loud.

Strengths: Very clear and responsive surround field.
Look nice with the 3 dimensional design.Weaknesses: I couldn't get the SS.1 from Best Buy because they didn't have them in stock. I was first questioning the 50 watts output on the SS.5 compared to the watt capability on the SS.1, but the 3 rear surround speakers blend in nicely.Bottom Line: The Klipsch SS.5 rear surround speakers sound great. I am using them in a 6.1 set-up with a Yamaha 5650 receiver. They sound great with the pair of front Kipsch SF-1's, and a pair of SC-1's (Rear and Center). The movies really come to life. I was watching Blade II on DVD using the 6.1 format and was impressed.

Strengths: ?Weaknesses: sounds like a tin canBottom Line: i can honestly say i think the new lines of klipsch speaker fail to impress. these were on loan while i'm building a diy kit, and for the price they are a bad value even the upper end of klipsch floors and surrounds are harsh and veiled
sounding. they maybe are adequate for home theater. i think for the price keep looking as there are many good choices out there. value only 1 because you can get their floor standing double 8" drivers for only triple the price
