Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Via Auction Site

Summary:
The subwoofer is physically a huge presentation as well as sonically. It is perfect for Home Theater as it does shake the house with great presence. Comparing it to Revel 15" seems not fair as the revel has more than 5 times the power rating during usage and more than 3 time at peak usage. For the price paid it is a smashing sub. The driver is stiffer than expected from a ported design

Strengths:
Air moving performance when required. Room shaking perfromance.

Weaknesses:
LFE control not what I expected and need to depend on amplifier low cut filter.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Tannoy factory outle

Summary:
Performs the job of subwoofer admirably. It reproduces the feeling you get from the bass drum and timpani at a concert, which speakers alone cannot supply. It fills out the sound of the double basses, and the lower registers of the piano and organ. I have never heard a similar sized subwoofer so I have nothing to compare it with, but it is hard to imagine how it could be any better.

Strengths:
Great value. Solid construction. Designed to complement Tannoy Saturn main speakers, which supply bass from 30Hz anyway, so regardless of which speakers you have, you won't need a larger sub than this.

Weaknesses:
Makes various objects around the room vibrate alarmingly! Weighing in at 35kg, it is tricky to move around.
