DESCRIPTION

Feel the power of 180 amplified watts of pure bass. The SAW3000 performance line subwoofer makes music alive and elevates the movie-watching experience to theater-like levels. For cinematic effects, crank up the bass level and let the 12 mica-reinforced cellular woofer do the rest. When it comes to creating high-quality Hi-Fi sound in your home, selecting the proper speakers is even more important. Sony makes it easy with an extremely wide range of different speakers. Whether you''re listening to a refined string quartet or watching a powerful action-packed movie, Sony''s speakers are designed to deliver an intensive acoustic experience that is both powerful and emotional.

Purchased this at Best Buy for around a $100 some years back during a sale. In my 15x20x10 bedroom, the sub is deep and thunderous. Very good for movies, you definitely feel the low bass notes quite well. However, for music it's not suitable for those with discerning ears.

Build quality is great. The all-black color is very simple and easy to match with other components. However, the back part which houses the connections, volume control, crossover, and line in, feels very flimsy in its plastic. No problems with that so far. The "feet" of the sub are non-existent and the unit can be easily pushed around like it does on my hardwood floors.

For the money, if you're on a tight budget yet want a step above cheap HTiB systems, this subwoofer along with the rest of Sony's value speakers will fit perfectly. I use this as a second sub in 5.1 setup by JBL's now-discontinued Venue Series.
