highlists of Pinnacle Digital Sub 350 review in WSR: 108db at 40hz,107db at 35hz, 106db at 30hz, but only 96db at 25hz and 86db at 20hz before
doubling set in..105db is extremely loud for music and loud enough for all
but the most enthusiastic sound effects, so the doubling problem was never
troublesome during listening tests..prefer that limiting be employed so it
would not occur at all.. music listening is a joy with the 350.. bass is
tight and well controlled with excellent tonal def..rhythm and pace easy to
follow and subjective impression of very low bass is excellent.. details
that are obscured by conventional designs on low freq sound effects are
revealed clearly.. bass impact is quite punchy, film sound effects are
reproduced surprisingly well for such a compact unit, but for ultimate
sense of slam two units are recommended.. two subs will load the room
better for smoother response, give you stereo all the way down, and all you
to hear this final quality compound bass as higher levels -- and still cost
about the same as one of the more expensive units in the review.. the high
quality of Isobarik bass used to be associated with high cost.. the 350
allows us regular guys to afford compound-loaded subwoofer systems too..
the outstanding music performance of this subwoofer makes it outshine the
competition in the hotly contested near-$1000 category and it's very, very
good for movie soundtracks too.. get thee to a dealer soon, and listen to
this miniature powerhouse...it's a performance winner that's also
afforable. Music:4.5 Effects:4 Impact:3.5 Tonal Def:4.5 Overhang:4.5
Rhythm&Pace:4.5 Midrange Coloration:5 Box Integrity:4 Distress:3 Subjective
Deep Bass:4.5 105db@35hz:Yes 25hz:4

I purchased this sub to mate with my Pinnacle AC-850 speakers. Now, the 850's have excellent sound / bass response for their size and price but I was not expecting as big of an improvement in the overall tonality of my system as I got by adding this excellent subwoofer! It took about 1/2 hour of experimenting with the crossover and phase controls to get things right. I positioned this front-firing cube right in the middle between the speakers. The "new" sound literally sent shivers up my spine (we Alaskans get excited easily sometimes). Routing the signal thru the subwoofer crossover sends everything above ~100Hz to the main speakers and the lows stay in the sub where they belong. This really turned the AC-850's loose to produce the mid-bass to high ranges with even more clarity and sweetness than before. Every time I listen to an old favorite CD thru the new set-up it's like hearing it for the first time! I did not realize how much bass I was missing until it was there. My only complaint is that my wife is not out of the house often enough so I can REALLY crank up the volume but that, of course, is not Pinnacle's fault. I recommend Pinnacle products without reservation to those like me who love music on a budget. Five stars plus!
