This subwoofer is great for adding low end bass to smaller bookshelf speakers. I have this paired with a set of Mission M70 bookshelf speakers in my master bedroom and this system sound great. The sub and satellites pair well and they fill my moderately sized room (16' x 14') with great sound for music and movies. Does the subwoofer shake the walls? No. It would be unrealistic to think that an 8" driver, powered by a 100W amplifier with a bottom end of 38Hz would be capable of performing that type of task. For the original price that I paid, I am very satisfied with the performance of this subwoofer. Would other subwoofers perform better? Yes, at a much higher price point.
