Strength:

These are among the greatest subs I've had, along with MJ Acoustics, SVS, Rythmic HSU, and others. The MK K-9 is one I'll keep; if I do change, it'll be to one of its larger brothers. So far, that isn't required. I actually have two of them, and the second is frequently left turned off. These subs mix in smoothly with my totem mains, filling my medium-sized room with clean articulate punchy rapid bass devoid of the artificial boom created by many lesser subwoofers. It also sounded fantastic when coupled with electrostatic speakers, easily keeping up and blending in. | https://www.drywallwaco.com

Weakness:

so far I am contented.

Strength:

It gets easily integrated with the main speakers, highly musical, fatigue free sound. I was not into subwoofers for I felt they were made specifically for home theatre usage. When I brought K-9 home and plugged it in, just like most people. I set the crossover high and bass volume set around 10 O' clock position, it was brutally boomy sound that I can easily live without. It took a few days for me to dial it in exactly where it was needed. Now I have a sound stage that is open, smooth, detailed, warm, highly dynamic with perfect timing, with easy to follow bass lines that have silence between notes, and the low level detail is unbelievably refined . I hear detail that I never heard before, I still find it so hard to believe that a sub-woofer can bring out the midrange and highs. The soundstage remains super stable, with images floating, and does not collapse when you turn up the volume. The overall sound is equally enjoyable at both, low and high volume. I have two of these subs, both are stacked up, and I use the high level input. I found the line level input a bit fatigue.

Weakness:

It can't go down really deep as it has an eight inch driver. But the truth is conga drums on Eagles Hotel California from Hell Freezes Over album sounded unbelievably realistic, with tight bass having solidity and punch. My main speakers are Aerial Acoustics Model 5, and these two M & K subs blend perfectly with those. Please keep in mind that you need to set your subs in a way that you would not know if there are active subs playing with your main speakers.

These are one of the best subs Ive owned and the list includes MJ acoustics, SVS, rythmic HSU and others. The MK K-9 is one Ill hold onto, if I do change it will only be to go with one of its bigger siblings. So far that isnt necessary. I actually own two of these and more often then not the second is left switched off. These subs blend in seamlessly with my totem mains filling my medium sized room with clean articulate punchy quick bass void of unrealistic boom commonly produced by quite a few inferior sub woofers, It also sounded superb when paired with electrostatic speakers easily keeping up and blending in. I believe there paper cones and sealed enclosures are two big factors that contribute to the realism in there sound. A kick drum sounds like a kick drum, and a bass guitar sounds like a bass. So much so that its capable of putting chills down the back of my neck on a regular basis. Highly recommended.
