Price Paid:  $1300.00 from Audiogon

Summary:
I purchased this subwoofer without auditioning it, as there aren't any local Houston distributors. An avid Legacy fan told me about it and I bought it used, and long distance and am proud that I did. I've listened to many others out there, and so far, this one is number one. The bass is so clean and uncolored at all listning levels. I really enjoy very loud and also very low music depending on the applications. The Legacy Point One provides the quality I was looking for. The active driver is a rear firing spun aluminum 15" driver coupled with a downfiring paper/pulp type passive radiator, and the two work so well together with the 750watt amplifier. Front mounted controls make adjusting between movie and music formats very easy, and the phase control allows me to adjust for my other DIY sub, so the two subs work well together. This is an extremely fine piece of furniture too.

Strengths:
Versatile with both music and movies. Front mounted controls. Very sharp looking piece of equipment.

Weaknesses:
Will post them when I find them....

Similar Products Used:
None similar, but have auditioned many others.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
