Review 1 of 8

Price Paid:  $0.00 from ubid

Summary:
I don't agree to bellow posting about booming. I used KEF 20B and 30B repectively more than 6 months. In my experience, KEF 20B is less powerfull than KEF 30B, but the bass quality seems to be better than 30B. The sound of 20B is more tight and more dynamic. The 70 watt RMS power is sufficient for music. But it seems to require more power for loud movie sound.

Strengths:
quality of bass sound (better than 30B). quality/price ratio.

Weaknesses:
power (especially for movie sound)

Review 3 of 8

Summary:
Just to follow-up on my previous post about the "booming" problem on the 20B :-

I have finally sent the 20B for repair, and the engineer said that the problem is due to some circuit components' need to be "re-soldering".

This costed me HKD$250 (with "one month" warranty period !)

Hope that the 20B can work normally for coming years ...

Good luck to all other 20B end-users !

Jason.

Review 4 of 8

Summary:
Although I have been VERY CAREFUL in using the 20B (i.e. never stress it too hard; everytime I used it, I will let it warm up for over 10 mins; and the volumn is graduately turning up --- i.e. no sudden impact on the subwoofer)

However, starting yesterday, whenever it is turned on, a continuous "booming" sound is coming out --- this "bomming" sound is loud and continuous.

I have tried to alter the subwoofer own's volumn, as well as disconnect the connection from the AV receiver (the Marantz SR7000), but there is no effect at all !

Do any 20B end-users encountered similar problem ?

Looking for any advice or suggestion.

(note : my warranty has expired !)

Weaknesses:
problem : continuous booming sound !
