Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $450.00 from ebay

Summary:
I purchased three of these subs for use according to the Harman International White Paper on Multiple Subs. They made such a fantastic difference in evening out and bolstering the LFE response in the room. They've created a whole extra dimension in 5.1 channel sound, whether HT, HDTV, DTS CD or DVD-A/SACD.

The stiff 12" Aluminum cone and 1000W amp provide tight, dynamic, articulate bass. It has strength without heaviness and punch without thump.

The relatively compact, cube-shaped, sealed enclosure is heavy but not unwieldy. It goes in places lots of larger subs won't, yet puts out plenty of LF SPL, better than most larger subs that I've heard.

Strengths:
Flexible placement, powerful amp, rigid Aluminum driver, excellent sound, full featured rear panel.

Weaknesses:
Hard to find

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
