Bottom Line: Great sub if well set.crossover need to be set at the right level in order to blend with main speakers. Different types of music require volumes of different levels so that the sub doesn't sound too boomy.I'm using it in a mid-sized room (20x16) and this sub really can produce good low frequency effects.I should say it's a value for money sub and performs very well for a 10inch.To me the controls (crossover, volume&power)which are located on the rear of this sub is a good feature by JBL.With the controls located on the rear this sub looks very neat and simple. It also prevents kids from playing with the controls. Some users seem to suggest that the controls should have been placed in front for easy access. It depends on the way you looks at it.

Bottom Line: First active sub, and a great purchase. Very powerful fro a ten, kicks the ass off a lot of 12's like Wharfedale topaz etc. Bought in New Zealand, therefore was $1000NZ (on sale to $80), about $350 US. Buy one for a first sub or as an auxillary if you have a mid quality 12.

Bottom Line: Tight bass, very powerful for 100W 10" subwoofer. I have to adjust my A/V receiver RX V-430 to -8 db, freq to 75% and Vol 65% to get the sound right. You have to connect both input (left and right) with Y connector to get the max power of the subwoofer.
