Price Paid:  $199.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
I auditioned a number of subwoofers selling for under 200 bucks. In this price range, most manufacturers try to lure buyers into the old "bigger is better" game. Nothing could be farther than the truth as it relates to subwoofers. The cabinet construction, quality of the amplifier and the type and quality of the woofer driver used are what make a subwoofer sound good.

Don't let the small size of the driver in this sub fool you. This thing easily rumbles my 14 by 30 foot listening room.

Strengths:
Low price

Small size

Quality construction

Sound quality

Weaknesses:
None
