Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $320.00 from Ebay

Summary:
This is for the plus version. I can tell you this thing gets down LOW. I'm more into movies than music and I can tell you a sub like this is REQUIRED. I put this head to head with the SVS Mid-sized cylider and they were pretty equal in sound, but this fits in a lower entertainment cabinet, so I chose this. My listening position is in the middle of the room, but this thingmMakes it seem almost as if you were against the wall! Just loads of great, accurate bass. I have mine near the corner, but it is not boomy due to high ceilings. For the money, you can't find a better sub.

Strengths:
Goes LOW, nice even cube, Loud, serviceable design.

Weaknesses:
Can't think of one.

Similar Products Used:
Velodyne SPL, Bose, SVS

Review NaN of , from Gainesville, VA

Price Paid:  $700.00 from Myer-Emco

Summary:
These subs have a great deep tight sound that I loved; however, it has an annoying noise so I took both of them back (Yes I had 2). I called the Definitive technical help line and the tech support guy said that it was normal and I could expect to hear it up to 12 inches away! The dealer's and both of my subs had this "white noise" coming out of the speaker when it was turned on and no music was playing. This is not high fidelity. I was very disappointed.

I gave it 4 overall stars because it sounded excellent.

I gave it 3 value stars because you really only get what you pay for with a noisy amp like this one.

I only listen to music and my system consist of:
CD Player - Sony CDP-CA70ES
CD Player - Yamaha CDC-775
Tuner - Yamaha TX-950
Cassette - Kenwood KX-780
Pre-amp - Yamaha CX-2
Power Amp - Yamaha M-4
Power Amp - Onkyo M-504 (2 of them)
Speakers - B&W 602S2
Speakers - Definitive Technology BP-2002

I was running 2 subs with the B&W speakers

Strengths:
Deep Tight Bass
Price
Looked good and nice metal connectors
Great power for the money

Weaknesses:
Noisy amp
Size for some people(not me)

Review NaN of , from oklahoma

Price Paid:  $350.00 from waco, tx

Summary:
Have owned the pedecessor for over 7 years. (My buddies and I worked a great deal on 6 of these.) For home theatre, this sub can't be beat. It will extend beyond the audible (below 15Hz with punch). I have a very open space (700 sq ft.) and can rattle pictures throughout with the sub's gain at 1/3. My only caution is that it is not as tight as some other subs for midbass (for music). Maybe the newer model is better musically , but I'd audition the sub with music to make sure you are happy if you plan to use the sub for music and theatre. There is NO doubt is will work great for theatre!

Strengths:
Deep and loud.

Weaknesses:
Not as tight with music as others (which tend to not be as deep--hence the conundrum.)
