Review NaN of , from watertown, MA

Price Paid:  $2800.00 from Audiogon

Summary:
The few subs I auditioned in high end shops were dissappointing. The Aerial was one, it did not integrate well, you could tell the bass was coming from a separate box. And it made an annoying "chuffing" sound when super low frequencies were demanded. We moved it around the room, finally got a decent, not great result. A couple others were similar, so I was hesitant to get into the Rhea. But I trusted Audio Physic, I have the Virgo II's and think they are one of the all time great speakers. So I got the Rhea, put it into the corner, and got instant perfect bass. Sounded like my Virgos just extended their bottom end. This whole speaker system dissappears so well, you cannot tell what is coming from where anyway. You get solid musical extended bass, it hits you right in the sternum. I suppose the Rhea was designed to work with AP speakers, but I have to think it would work great with any speakers.

Strengths:
Snap to set up, integrates seamlessly, you do not have to move this around all the time to get decent bass. Goes down down down, solid as a rock all way through. NEver fatiguing.

Weaknesses:
Weighs 200+ pounds, or feels like it does. A real bear to move up a staircase.
