Review NaN of , from copiague

Price Paid:  $200.00 from laserland

Summary:
I owned this subwoofer for about 2 years now and i do
recommend for home theater use in small rooms. I do not
recommend it for music at all. I suggest finding a bigger
subwoofer for music.

Weaknesses:
no on/off switch so/so for music

Similar Products Used:
velodyne, definative technology

Review NaN of , from New Orleans, LA

Price Paid:  $150.00 from onecall

Summary:
In short: I loved it for the two years it worked. The automated switch went bad causing sudden sub drops and loud bangs even when the HKAVR500 that I have it hooked to was not on. I wanted to replace it with Velodyne 100 but got the Optimus PRO-SW200P on sale for 199 with 2y warranty. Softer bass, much larger unit, a little boomy, if used on the higher amp settings (which I never do), but with a remote and excellent bass at the lower amp settings.

Strengths:
Tight but not too crisp bass.

Weaknesses:
Automated switch defect rendering the unit useless.

Review NaN of , from madison

Price Paid:  $400.00 from the happy medium

Summary:
this is a review for the atlantic technology 262 pbm because there isn't a post for it. my chose came down to this sub and the psb subsonic 2. the psb was rated lower and was bigger but i felt the 262 had more weight to the bass and it seemed more accurate. i have nothing but praise for it so far. it hits deep when its needed and never seems to miss a beat. the appearance is very attractive and the driver looks of good quality. theres a led light in the front that tells you when it on or in standby and the input level is also in front to dial in the amount of bass you desire. the bass is there on dvd titles like fight club in the opening scene. titanic in its last hour. the buffalo hunt in dances with wolves is extremely realistic and the sub never misses a beat. the opening sequence in the 007 adventure tomorrow never dies where bond breaks up a black market ring is immpresively powerful. all in all this is a great sub but i do have one qualm. the led light is supposed to go to orange from green after 10 minutes or so of no audio information but it stays green constantly. i don't know if this is a problem of the sub or my reciever. i have a harmon kardon avr 45. if anyone has any input on this i would love to hear it. i'll give it 5 for value cause it is a great deal and 4 overall because of that one small problem.

GOOD LISTENING

Strengths:
accurate, tight bass

Weaknesses:
i'll explain below

Similar Products Used:
first sub i've owned but i auditioned psb, m&k, and kef

Review NaN of , from omak ,wa,usa

Summary:
The automatic switch quirks have led me to leave this otherwise good sounding unit unplugged, thus unused most of the time, rendering it annoyingly useless.

Strengths:
Good performance with adjustable low-pass filter and level control

Weaknesses:
A major caveat is that the "automatic" on/off switch can have a mind of its own. Thus, even with all inputs set at maximum it may decide to shut down during quiet passages with an electronic click that can be extraordinarily distracting.I sent it to factory. They said it checked out OK and there was no way to bypass the autoswitch.

Review NaN of , from Philippines

Summary:
When combined with the AT Series 150, everything works well. No problem in listening to music, very soothing. The problem comes when watching movies with powerful explosion scenes which the PBM 162 tends to produce cracking sound, this we all know can potentially damage the speaker. Other than that, I don't have other things to complain. Please make sure to place the 162 away from the walls so that your bass wouldn't be too hard.

Strengths:
Smooth bass, with adjustable gain and low pass filter

Weaknesses:
Produces cracking sound when powerful explosions is being played pack.
