Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $119.00 from www.subwoofers.com

Summary:
I think this is the best 10 on the market for either car audio or home theater. But keep in mind it is a 10"... Which means it much have a much greater Xmax to compete with 12's and larger. But if you looking for a small package that will hit deep you can't beat it. If you don't mind having a bigger box and you want more bass I would go with the Tempest from adireaudio.com, but its a 15".

Strengths:
Xmax, size, size of box for low extension, the vas and xmax combination make it work extremely well in less than a cubic foot box. I think its the best ten on the market.

Weaknesses:
Well they could work a little on the cosmetics like the speaker terminals, but for its price what do you expect.

Similar Products Used:
Shiva, Rockford Fosgate Punch10 and 18, Soundstream SPL15

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $119.00 from ACI

Summary:
I was reluctant to use a 10" subwoofer because of low swept volume. But this subwoofer's massive xmax takes care of that. Amazingly deep bass for a 10" driver with minimal cabinet size. High xmax also allows for distortion-free response at nearly full rated power handling. 2 cu ft with a 21Hz port gives _flat_ response to 30Hz and an F3 of 21Hz. Suprising bass in a sealed enclosure as well (F3 36.5Hz). Low Vas allows for use in car as well as home theatre. Reliable, sturdy with no noticable resonance or other problems. Best value I have seen for a while.

Strengths:
massive xmax, low fs, sanoprene surround

Weaknesses:
low sensitivity, terminals could be better

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $120.00 from From ACI (www.audioc.com)

Summary:
Excellent 10" woofer. Leaps and bounds better than any 12" that I've heard. I plan on using it in a car and later a in a home theatre system. I disagree with the post before this, the SV10 does have 25hz slam. Infact in my configuration, 3ft^3 ported, the f3 is 19hz and the port resonance is 18hz. For the $120 price tag I think this was a steal. If your looking for any type of sub, but don't want to spend $120 on just the woofer, trust me, do it and in the long run you will be glad. The SV10 has been one of the best deals I've ever run into.

Strengths:
Long Xmax, low fs, versatile

Weaknesses:
for a nice woofer, maybe better terminals

Similar Products Used:
none

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Direct through ACI

Summary:
I have two of these subs crossed over at 100hz using a kg-5150 (250watts at 4ohms). The box is 1.13ft^3. I have the 25hz 4db boost on. All I can say is wow! This sub is really increadible. I shopped around for a long time to find a small sealed sub with good numbers. I wanted something that would be awesome for music and still be good in home theaters. This 10" met all my expectations. It doesn't have the low hertz slam of the 12 and 15" ported subs, but what do you expect when this is a 10" in a small sealed box. If you want that sub 25hertz slam, go with one of the larger subs, or a ported config, but If you want impressive clean bass that blows away everything else in the 10" small sealed range (even a lot of 12"), then this is the sub for you!

Strengths:
Very tight bass. Increadible (not to mention pretty acurate) specs for a 10". 16mm one way Xmax!!! Very low price.

Weaknesses:
I'll de damned if I can find one.

Similar Products Used:
Blew away (in ALL aspects) my JBL PSW1200 ported 12" sub. It seemed to keep up with the 12" at electronic stores in terms of extension.
