I bought 2 of these in-wall speakers from Home Theater Direct to use as rear speakers in a surround sound system. These in-wall speakers make fabulous rear speakers, and I've tested them as simple 2-way stereo speakers and they hold up well. Sound quality is natural and uncolored. Spatial imaging is excellent. And when you consider that two of these in-wall speakers cost less than $200, it's hard not to recommend them.
The entire system that I purchased from Home Theater Direct consists of "Level 2" tower speakers (as front speakers), and a Level 2 Center Channel speaker. Overall, this speaker system is a remarkable buy. The total set cost me $700, and I've never owned a better sounding speaker system. Reviews of the company itself are stellar. I've contacted customer service twice and was impressed by the speed and friendliness of the service I received. They will bend over backward to make you happy. This is the way all businesses should be run. Yes, I recommend these speakers.
