Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $275.00

Summary:
Combining these Polk Audio RM6000 speakers with the middle-of-the-road Sony STR DE575 produced results which far exceeded my expectations. One single home theatre system did not satisfy the demand from all the family members, so I decided to set up a second system in the sitting room off the master bedroom, but on a lower budget basis. I wasn't content with limitations of the "theatre in a box" approach, but didn't want to spend thousands on a system in this more confined area. These speakers fill the room with full, rich sounds to support the dvd's, videos and video games played. I expected good sound, but not the great sound these pump out. We are fully satisfied and then some. While our Yamaha/Athena system is superior, it also costs much more and supports a much larger application. Still, these Polk speakers will rattle the house if you let them...

Strengths:
Good bass handling Full, rich sound Well constructed, good weight Phenomenal value

Weaknesses:
Somewhat bright when listening to radio.

Similar Products Used:
Bose Accoustimat -- excellent mini speaker system but more expensive.

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $499.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
I use the Polk 6000 in a small living room wtih Kenwood vr507 receiver. I find the speakers to be more than adequate for the size of the room. Also, the sound is clean rather than overly bassed. Have had other Polk speakers for almost 20 years and have always found them to be of good value and quite consistent

Strengths:
overall clean sound

Weaknesses:
larger size rooms may need a larger sub woofer

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $499.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
Tremendous value especially if you can purchase this as a package with "free" reciever(Kenwood 100/channelx5) as I was fortunate to have done at the time. The sound is alarmingly crisp, although DVD viewing/listening and CD's are optimal. I hooked this up with a SONY Wega and used optical video and audio cables which make even TV viewing a new experience. The Bass is more than enough for a larger room despite other reviews i've read about this product recommending it for smaller rooms and dorm rooms. I'm not sure where they are arriving to this from. For the price and the Polk workmanship and history, this is a fantastic unit and highly recommended for the surround sound generation.

Strengths:
Sound clarity, bass, and overall performance.

Weaknesses:
Front channel speaker is a bit dull on voice, lack of bass boost and equilization when in DVD mode.

none

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $469.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
Have only had this speaker system a short while, but what a difference from what I had. I only have a small den area, so the quaint size was important. Am using a Technics dx-950 w/ Sony dvpns-300 player. Use mainly for movies, no music, but I've test that anyway and it sounds great to. The subwoofer that comes w/ this package is plenty powerful (at least for me, the mine field scene in Behind Enemy Lines shakes my cieling tiles and the sub floor upstairs). I've not much experience with crossover stuff but I've adjusted to my liking, again I'm only in a den about 12x10. Don't know if these would work in a bigger room, but would probably depend on receiver you have also. Have been thinking about upgrading sub, but don't think I need to. Will judge that if I ever get a bigger room. Sound is awesome DTS and DD, prefer DTS though. These pups really put out.

Strengths:
Handle output well, size for spacial issues. Great for dens and small rooms

Weaknesses:
None that I've found

Similar Products Used:
Philipps, Sony
