Strength:

Price (599 bones from CC) and great quality

Weakness:

Rear speakers are quite large.

I must say, I think I did a good thing by buying these speakers. They came in white which allows me to blend it in with my wall. The rear speakers are quite big but manageable. I did have a problem with the manual that it came with. It recommended that you tie the receiver to the subwoofer and then the subwoofer to the front channel speakers. Why? That just seems like a way to distort your sound some more. I went against the manual and did it my way and it still sounds great. But, overall, it was a great buy and I would tell anybody to get these if they are looking for a good priced system (if they still make them).

Strength:

Deep Bass with on distortion. Amazing voice clarity and great

Deep Bass with no distortion, amazing voice clarity, and great midrange effects.

Weakness:

Surround speakers could've been matched to the front speaker better.

Polk's RM5400 is amazing. I've used it for about one year now, and it is truly worth the $700-$800 price tag. I have it hooked up to a Technics SADX930 Dolby Digtal, DTS decoding reciever with 100watts X 5. I returned two other systems before owning this one (sony SAVE505 and BOSE) because they could not produce deep bass or decent clarity at all. The subwoofer is amazing. I was worried at first because there was no crossover adjustment, but boy was I wrong. No matter how high you turn the subwoofer up, there is no noticable distortion. The surround speakers are a little acward looking and big, but they work great. I only wish that they were matched cosmetically to the front speakers. Polk RM5400 works great with any movie, especially action movies. The 100 watt subwoofer really puts out for the explosions and rocks for movies like the Matrix. If there is one suggestion I do have, it is do not waste your time with BOSE. BOSE is the worst sounding system I have heard. The satelites are incapable of producing bass, and the woofer doesn't do its job at all. The RM5400 is made out of 5 real speakers and a subwoofer that really do satisfy the consumer.

Strength:

clairity and seperation

Weakness:

small sub

Well, I just purchased this set and hooked it up to a Pioneer VSX-D906S (100 x 5) and have been throughly impressed, esp for home theater. The seperation and the clairity eps for the rear is exceptional. I was a little worried with the sub only being an 8" but it seems to compliment the rest of the system nicely. I haven't had it very long, so I'll update this later, but for now, the speakers have met and surpassed what I was expecting.

Strength:

Great Price for system, Great Sound, available in white, great tech support staff

Weakness:

Rears are a bit big

I have posted on here before and said that these speakers are great. I also posted earlier that I thought the manual was being dumb for fixing the configuration so that the reciever is hooked up to the sub and then from the sub to the front speakers. Well, I owe Polk Audio a big apology. I have been blowing my sub several times throughout the year and I originally thought it was that I was playing to loud. After the 3rd time of taking it back to Circuit City, I called Polk to see what else could be going on. They told me that the line input that I was using should not be used unless the front speakers are different. So I was shocking my sub this whole time. Deepest regrets. Oh well, I have a 1 year warranty so I didn't spend any money on this. Just some embarrasment. I guess that's why I'm not an Audiophile. My friend from N. Houston told me to do this so it's his fault. :-D Just kidding friend from N Houston if you are reading.

Strength:

clean sound, looks good

Weakness:

suround speakers bigger than most

got these for $500 on a deal with Polk and my company. Replaced a CS Ensemble with passive subwoofer. I was never really happy with the Ensemble. It has a clean sound just not very detailed. This is a denfinte improvement. Powered sub has much better bass. Much more detail in music. Center speaker is also an improvement over Cambridge Soundworks.
But I still think a sat-sub setup is not as good as two nice floor standing speakers.

Strength:

Nice heavy fronts/center. Powerful 8" subwoofer.

Weakness:

rears are ugly and awkwardly shaped. Subwoofer turned off during movies until I changed the front/center size settings on my reciever to small, no problems since.

I really enjoy this system. I have had no problems whatsoever with the system or it's performance.
This is a great system for anyone interested in a high quality home theater on a budget. I purchased them at CC on sale for 600.00 along with a Sony 930 reciever for 360.00, can't beat that deal!

Strength:

Price, Included Wall Brackets, Sound

Weakness:

Included Wall Brackets

Amazing Speakers. The only complaint is the fact that the included wall brackets are not adjustable. Very sturdy construction, except for the speaker grill on the two front satellites. After they come off (easily) it is almost impossible to put them back on. Great 5.1 set foe the money. I picked them up at Circuit City for $699.00. The salesman told me that they took them out of the sound room because they sound just as good, if not better, than other towers which cost 3 times as much.

Strength:

Well matched, neat, stylish design, price, performance

Weakness:

wall brackets, sub is very large

Picked these up a CC the other day. These are the best speaker set I heard in showroom. Got these hooked up to an HK receiver and THX monster cable for the sub. The sub is excellent, no bottoming out. Delivers tight, deep bass. This system rocks!
