Description: This complete home-cinema speaker package includes all the speakers you need to re-create the excitement of a movie theater. The four satellites are true 2-way speakers with titanium-laminate dome tweeters. The center-channel speaker uses the same transducers as the satellites for seamless pans, but has two midranges for extra power and clarity in the dialogue channel. The 100-watt powered subwoofer delivers thunderous, penetrating bass. All cables and satellite wall-mount brackets are included.

Summary:
Bought this product based upon reviews for JBL SCS135. Figured the SCS135SI would be an upgrade. For the price, this surround speaker system can't be beat. I'm an old-time audiophile (55yrs old). I still prefer the sound of good old fashioned stereo systems. I have auditioned Polk, Bose, Infinity, Klipsch, Harmon Kardon, etc., and these JBL's sound as good or better than all the others. HOWEVER, they still can't touch the sound of my old stereo Advent Legacy speakers, or my old ElectroVoice EV-2's. AAAH, progress!

Strengths:
Great highs, good lows (subwoofer has independent adjustable volume control).

Weaknesses:
Midrange is a bit nasal. All satellites (but especially the center channel) need a 3-1/2" to 4" midrange driver rather than the 3" driver used in this system.

Similar Products Used:
none. this is the first surround system i have purchased.
